Mevo Start can live stream directly to Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, LinkedIn Live, Vimeo / Livestream, and any platform with RTMP compatibility. You can connect to video chat apps like Zoom, Google Meets, and Skype with webcam mode, and connect to other software switchers via NDI® | HX.
Mevo Start features an onboard microphone array, 3.5mm TRS analog input, and a USB-C port for driverless audio interfaces. You can also bring in audio via the Mevo Camera App or wirelessly from a separate device with the Mevo Mic App.
Yes, Mevo Start has excellent internal audio but in the event you want to use your own mics or professional audio gear, here are the ways you can mix in external audio: USB Audio via Mevo Start USB-C, 3.5mm TRS line/mic input, the Mevo Mic App, and the mobile device adapter into the Mevo Camera App.
Mevo Start has a 5/8"-27 mounting thread and ships with an adapter for 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads. These three universal mounting standards encompass most microphone stands, camera tripods, or installed security camera mounts. We also produce dedicated stands and mounts for self-standing, desktop use, and even mounting to chain-link fences.
Yes, Mevo Start can be used as a webcam with Mac and Windows computers or laptops via a USB connection or the Mevo Wireless Webcam Utility.
Yes, the Mevo Multicam App lets you wirelessly control and switch between multiple Mevo Cameras for a compelling multicamera live stream or recording. For working with a single Mevo Camera, we recomment the Mevo Camera App.
At the moment, controlling Mevo Start requires a connection to the same local area network.
Mevo Start can live stream three ways: your smartphone's LTE connection, an existing WiFi network, or a wired network using the optional Ethernet Power Adapter. A local wifi network is required only for the Mevo Multicam App.
We recommend a minimum sustained 9-15mb/s upload speed for high-quality live streaming, though lowering your output bit rate in the Mevo Camera app is possible for slower connections.
Mevo Start can operate completely wirelessly thanks to its WiFi connectivity and built-in battery. For live streams longer than six hours, or where a wired network is available, we do offer USB-C and Ethernet solutions for greater efficiency.
